The process of building a home can be long and complicated, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. We organize with precision using transparent management software that shares every aspect of your project from beginning to end.
OUR CUSTOM HOME PROCESS
STEP 1: INITIAL MEETING: LEARNING ABOUT YOU
We meet with you in person to listen to the vision for your project and learn where you are in the process of preparation, whether you’re starting from scratch to take a dream into reality or ready to build from your own or Alexander Homes’ preexisting plans . At the complimentary initial meeting, we gather the information we need to create a PreConstruction Services Agreement, which is a part of our unique process for planning your project.
STEP 2: FINDING YOUR STYLE
Our comprehensive Design Questionnaire that you will fill out after initial meeting , is a wonderful tool that will help us organize your ideas and create a comprehensive vision.
It is a guideline to help you put your general desires on paper. After you have listed all the elements you want, we will work with you to shape these into your new home.
STEP 3: PRECONSTRUCTION SERVICES AGREEMENT
Planning is the foundation of any successful construction project. The PreConstruction Services Agreement is a fee based agreement which outlines in detail the scope of work required to prepare for construction, including:
• Construction Drawings and Renderings
• Construction Cost Estimation and Value Engineering
• Specifications and Allowances Development
• Construction Contract Preparation
A fee is set for the cost of pre-construction services, which produce a building package that you retain

STEP 4: CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT
Once plans and specifications are completed, we require approximately two weeks two finalize our building agreement. The Contract will be made up of several documents:
– Building Contract
– Signed Copy of your Specifications
– Signed Copy of your Allowance Items List
– Signed Copy of your completed Plans
– Signed Copy of your Customer Product Selection Schedule
STEP 5: SELECTIONS
Now that the budget is established and all the documents are signed , it is time to have some fun and select the finishes in your dream home. One of the greatest advantages of Alexander Home’s approach lies in our guided selection process.
Our team will work closely with you , providing support and assistance as you select the fixtures and finishes included in your budget. Unlike many builders who send their clients to the number of different vendors, most of our selections can be done in our showroom for your convenience.
STEP 6: CONSTRUCTION
When you build with Alexander Homes, you communicate directly with the builder. During progress meetings you are kept abreast of all developments during the build. Detailed meeting notes are distributed to all parties after each meeting. This minimizes surprises, delays and changes, keeping your project on schedule and on budget.

STEP 7: POST CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT
When construction ends, our service continues. Alexander Homes offers a complete 1 year warranty on all custom homes, We also provide you with instructional material about the systems and warranties of your new home when you take occupancy. When the warranty expires, Alexander Homes’ service continues even further. Many clients call us back years after completion for additions, renovations and repairs, and we treasure opportunities to build lasting relationships with our customers.
